Humanistic Counselling in Sheffield for People Pleasing, Family Wounds, Identity & Reconnecting with yourself
Sometimes what brings people to therapy is hard to name. Not a crisis exactly, but a quiet, persistent sense that something isn't quite right.
Maybe you've spent a long time fitting around other people, saying yes when you mean no, keeping the peace, making yourself smaller. And somewhere along the way, you've lost track of who you actually are beneath all of that.
A lot of this has roots in early life. The ways you learned to feel loved, accepted, or safe tend to leave marks that show up later in your relationships, your self-worth, and the stories you carry about yourself.
This is a space to slow down and look at that. Not to fix you, but to help you understand yourself more clearly and reconnect with what you actually want and need.
I'm Yasmin, a humanistic counsellor based in Sheffield. I work with people navigating self-esteem, people-pleasing, identity, family wounds, estrangement, and relationship difficulties, in person and online. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, grounded in building the kind of honest, consistent relationship where real self-exploration becomes possible.
I'm a queer therapist and GSRD-affirming practitioner, which means however you identify, and whatever your relationship structure looks like, you won't need to explain or justify yourself here.
If something here resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you.
If you have spent years adapting, overthinking, people-pleasing, or carrying roles that were never truly yours, working with me can offer you a space to begin understanding where those patterns came from. A space to make room for the parts of yourself that may never have had that before, and to reconnect with who you are beneath them.
My approach is warm, relational, and trauma-informed. Together, we can gently explore the experiences, family dynamics, and survival strategies that may still be shaping your life today.
